Wisconsin does not have voter registration by party. Voters can register to vote at the polls on election day. Voters may request the ballot of any party but for one party only. "Uncommitted" appears on the ballot under the choice labeled "Uninstructed Delegation". Write-in candidates are allowed. Tuesday 2 April 2024: Wisconsin Primary. Hours reportedly 7:00a-8:00p CDT (1200-0100 UTC). Delegate Binding: Winner-Take-All (district and statewide) Primary. Voter Eligibility: Open Primary.
All 41 of Wisconsin's delegates to the Republican National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders in today's Wisconsin Presidential Primary.
Prior to the Presidential Primary ... each District Chairman, in consultation with his or her District Executive Committee shall establish a list of ... District delegates ... to the national convention and shall submit that list to the Republican Party of Wisconsin. Within 7 days of the Presidential Primary, the committee of the candidate winning a plurality of the vote in each Congressional District shall notify the Republican Party of Wisconsin which 3 from each District list they wish to designate as delegates ... [Republican Party of Wisconsin Constitution Article X Section 5.] At-Large delegates ... shall be selected by the committee of the candidate receiving a plurality of the statewide votes ... and ... said delegates ... shall be ratified by the State Executive Committee. It shall be understood that the candidate’s committee shall have final approval ... [Republican Party of Wisconsin Constitution Article X Section 5.] A candidate ... is entitled to control all the delegates ... on all votes for nomination for President of the United States and Vice-President of the United States, unless the delegates ... are released by the candidate or the candidate fails to receive at least 1/3 of the total votes cast in any vote for nomination.
