2024 Presidential Primaries, Caucuses, and Conventions
The delegate selection processes herein, along with any and all dates and delegate counts associated therewith, are unofficial and based on either (1) information obtained from either Major Party, (2) Presidential Primary dates established by currently-effective State statute, or- where the foregoing information could not be obtained- (3) the state's 2020 delegate selection process and associated dates adjusted to the corresponding dates in 2024 and labeled "(presumably)" or "Circa".
Presidential Nominating Process
Primary: Tuesday 19 March 2024 (presumably)
Delegate Binding: Winner-Take-All Primary. Voter Eligibility: Modified Primary.

20 December 2023: Presidential candidates filing deadline.
SB 55 would change the Presidential primary date to May.
This Presidential Primary coincides with a state/local primary. These coinciding primaries tend to have an impact upon voter turnout.
Tuesday 19 March 2024 (presumably): Ohio Primary. Hours reportedly 6:30a-7:30p EDT (1030-2330 UTC). Delegate Binding: Winner-Take-All Primary. Voter Eligibility: Modified Primary.
All 78 of Ohio's delegates to the Republican National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders winner-take-all in today's Ohio Presidential Primary. [Republican State Central and Executive of Ohio Permanent Rules Article X Section 1 (d)]
The Presidential candidates pre-approve delegate candidates as a slate. The slate of the candidate who receives the most votes statewide is elected.
In addition, 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Ohio's Republican Party, will attend the convention, pledged to the candidate who receives the most votes statewide, by virtue of their position.
Primary dates marked "presumably" and polling times marked "reportedly" are based on unofficial or estimated data (especially as regards local variations from a jurisdictionwide statutory and/or regulatory standard) and are, thereby, subject to change.
