The delegate selection processes herein, along with any and all dates and delegate counts associated therewith, are unofficial and based on either (1) information obtained from either Major Party, (2) Presidential Primary dates established by currently-effective State statute, or- where the foregoing information could not be obtained- (3) the state's 2020 delegate selection process and associated dates adjusted to the corresponding dates in 2024 and labeled "(presumably)" or "Circa".

Louisiana registers voters by party. Voters may participate by being registered Democrats at the time they request their ballot and may change their party affiliation at any time. Write-in candidates and Uncommitted are not allowed.
48 of 56 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Louisiana Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level. The number of delegates per district will be determined after the 14 October 2023 (or, if necessary, the 18 November runoff) gubernatorial election.
Wednesday 3 April - Saturday 4 May 2024 Post-primary Congressional District Caucuses. The 32 District-level delegates are elected, by a vote-by-mail process, according to the results of the primary. Vote-by-mail from 3 April to 2 May. Ballots are tabulated on 4 May.
Saturday 8 June 2024: Democratic State Central Committee. 6 National Convention Pledged PLEO and 10 At-Large delegates are elected according to the results of the primary.
