Delegate Selection Plan from the Nebraska Democratic Party. 16 June 2023: DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee Meeting found this plan in conditional compliance. Due to the May primary, the state qualifies for a 20% bonus which is 4 delegates. 14 September 2023: DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee found this plan to be in full compliance. A candidate who has been determined by the Secretary of State to be a recognized candidate for the presidency is automatically placed on the primary election ballot. For others, the deadline for filing is 15 March 2024. |
Participation in Nebraska's delegate selection process is open to all voters who wish to participate as Democrats. Nebraska has voter registration by party and provides that a political party may allow non-affiliated voters to vote in their primary election. Nebraska Democratic Party has adopted this rule for 2024. Tuesday 14 May 2024: Nebraska Primary. Hours reportedly 8:00a-8:00p CDT / 7:00a-7:00p MDT (1300-0100 UTC). The polls open and close at the same GMT/UTC time, that is, polls open and close at a particular local time in the advanced time zone and open and close one hour earlier local time in the lagging time zone. Delegate Pledging: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Modified Primary.
29 of 34 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders based on the results of the Primary. Write-in candidates are allowed.
