2024 Presidential Primaries, Caucuses, and Conventions
The delegate selection processes herein, along with any and all dates and delegate counts associated therewith, are unofficial and based on either (1) information obtained from either Major Party, (2) Presidential Primary dates established by currently-effective State statute, or- where the foregoing information could not be obtained- (3) the state's 2020 delegate selection process and associated dates adjusted to the corresponding dates in 2024 and labeled "(presumably)" or "Circa".

Delegate Binding: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Open Primary.

11 January 2024 to 11 March 2024: Presidential candidate filing deadline.
This Presidential Primary coincides with a state/local primary. These coinciding primaries tend to have an impact upon voter turnout.
There is no party registration in Montana. Individuals who vote in a primary election are given all the parties' ballots, and can choose in private which party ballot they wish to vote.
Tuesday 4 June 2024 (presumably): Montana Primary. Hours reportedly 7:00a-8:00p MDT (1300-0200 UTC). A polling place with less than 400 registered voters must be open at least from noon to 8 p.m. or until all registered electors have voted. Delegate Binding: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Open Primary. NON-COMPLIANT DATE
Montana Presidential Primary.
Binding of delegates ... to the Republican National Convention. Montana's delegates ... shall be allocated and are bound to vote for the candidates receiving more than 5% of the vote in the Montana Republican Primary in proportion to the percentage of vote received at that primary election through the 1st ballot of the Republican National Convention, if that candidate's name is placed in nomination. Delegates to the State Delegate Convention are elected from each county by the County Central Committee at least 10 days before the State Convention. [Montana Republican Party Bylaws. Section B - III. D]
Circa June 2024 (date not set): State Convention / State Delegate Convention in Missoula. The convention slates the state's Republican National Convention delegates and nominates Presidential Electors. [Section B - III. B. and F. 1 through 7)]
