The Pennsylvania General Assembly is considering a moving the primary to 2 April 2023 to avoid conflicts with religious holidays. 13 February 2024 (23 January if primary date is moved): Presidential candidate filing deadline. SB 224 would move the primary from the 4th Tuesday in April to 3rd Tuesday in May for non-Presidential years; the 4th Tuesday in April for Presidential years; and for 2024 only, 16 April 2024. |
Pennsylvania requires voters to be enrolled for no less than 15 days prior to the Primary. Tuesday 23 April 2024 (presumably): Pennsylvania Primary. Hours reportedly 7:00a-8:00p EDT (1100-0000 UTC). Circa May - June 2024 (date not set): Summer Meeting . The Pennsylvania Republican State Committee meets in Harrisburg to choose 13 at-large delegates (10 base at-large delegates plus 3 bonus delegates) who are bound to the candidate who receives the most votes in the Pennsylvania Presidential Primary. In addition, 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Pennsylvania's Republican Party, will attend the convention as pledged delegates by virtue of their position. |
