159 of 185 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Pennsylvania Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level. How the Democratic Proportional Delegate Allocation Math works.

  • 105 district delegates are to be pledged proportionally to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the State's 17 congressional districts.
  • In addition, 54 delegates are to be pledged to presidential contenders based on the primary vote statewide.
    • 35 at-large National Convention delegates
    • 19 Pledged PLEOs

District Level delegates appear on the primary ballot and selections are made from the highest vote getters. In the event a presidential candidate qualifies to receive District delegates but failed to slate a sufficient number on the primary ballot, the necessary delegates will be elected at the State Convention.
