Monday 4 March 2024: The North Dakota Presidential Preference Caucus. Hours 5:00p-8:00p CST / 4:00p-7:00p MST (2300-0200 UTC). Caucuses in Legislative Districts conduct a Presidential Preference Poll and elect delegates to the State Convention. Voter Eligibility: Closed Caucus/Convention.   • Otherwise, award National Convention delegates proportionally to candidates who receive 20% or more of the vote.
    • Calculate the total vote of all candidates who received 20% or more of the vote-- this is the total qualified vote.
    • For each candidate who received 20% or more-- award (candidate's vote) ÷ (total qualified vote) × (the total number of delegates = 29) delegates. Each candidate receives the whole number of delegates. (this may be rounded to the nearest whole number)
    • The remaining delegates, if any, are awarded in order of the highest fractional remainders. In the event of a tie, the unassigned delegate(s) are bound to the candidate of the delegate's choosing. [Article 7. Rules 15 and 16.] (this section needs to be verified)

Friday 5 April - Saturday 6 April 2024: North Dakota State Convention in Fargo.

  • In a Presidential election year, the Committee ... will present a slate of delegates... to the State Republican Endorsing Convention from persons who applied to the committee from nomination. [Article VII. Rule 8. Section 3.]

Three party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the North Dakota's Republican Party, attend the convention by virtue of their position as bound delegates.

Delegates are bound for the 1st ballot.

 

14 August 2023: The Republican National Committeeman for North Dakota tells CNN that North Dakota's Presidential Caucuses would be 4 March 2024. from CNN.
