2024 Presidential Primaries, Caucuses, and Conventions
The delegate selection processes herein, along with any and all dates and delegate counts associated therewith, are unofficial and based on either (1) information obtained from either Major Party, (2) Presidential Primary dates established by currently-effective State statute, or- where the foregoing information could not be obtained- (3) the state's 2020 delegate selection process and associated dates adjusted to the corresponding dates in 2024.
Presidential Nominating Process
Precinct Caucuses: Tuesday 27 February 2024 (presumably)
Primary: Tuesday 5 March 2024 (presumably)1
Organizing Unit Conventions: Saturday 9 March - Sunday 21 April 2024 (presumably)
Congressional District Conventions: Saturday 4 May - Friday 31 May 2024 (presumably)
State Convention: Sunday 2 June 2024 (presumably)
Delegate Pledging: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Closed Primary.

Participants in the Precinct Caucuses must consider themselves a member of the DFL Party and not an active member of any other political party.
Tuesday 27 February 2024 (presumably): Minnesota Precinct Caucuses.
Delegates are elected to the Organizing Unit Conventions.
Minnesota has same-day registration and does not have registration by party. Party preference is declared when requesting a primary ballot, and the preference is publicly recorded.
The 2020 Presidential Primary is scheduled for 5 March 2024 unless major party chairs agree on a different date by 1 March 2023.
Tuesday 5 March 2024 (presumably): Minnesota Primary. Hours reportedly 7:00a-8:00p CST (1300-0200 UTC). Voting begins at 10:00 AM in some townships. Delegate Pledging: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Closed Primary.
75 of 92 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in the Minnesota Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be pledged National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level. Saturday 9 March - Sunday 21 April 2024 (presumably): Organizing Unit Conventions.
Delegates are elected to the Congressional District and State Conventions.
Saturday 4 May - Friday 31 May 2024 (presumably): Third Level Congressional District Conventions.
National Convention District delegates are elected according to the results of the primary.
Sunday 2 June 2024 (presumably): Fourth Level State Convention.
National Convention Pledged PLEO and At-Large delegates are elected according to the results of the primary.
