This Presidential Primary coincides with a state/local primary. These coinciding primaries tend to have an impact upon voter turnout. There is no party registration in Montana. Individuals who vote in a primary election are given all the parties' ballots, and can choose in private which party ballot they wish to vote. Tuesday 4 June 2024: Montana Primary. Hours reportedly 7:00a-8:00p MDT (1300-0200 UTC). A polling place with less than 400 registered voters must be open at least from noon to 8 p.m. or until all registered electors have voted. Delegate Pledging: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Open Primary.
17 of 22 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Montana Presidential Primary. Write-in votes are permitted. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be pledged National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level.
