Saturday 18 May 2024: Montana Delegate Convention. Delegate Selection: Delegate Selection Caucus/Convention. Voter Eligibility: Closed Caucus/Convention.

• There is no formal system to relate the presidential preference of the Convention participants to the choice of the delegates to the Republican Convention.

In addition, 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Montana's Republican Party, will attend the convention as unpledged delegates by virtue of their position.

There will be no vote for a Presidential candidate, hence there is no binding.

Binding of delegates ... to the Republican National Convention. Montana's delegates ... shall be allocated and are bound to vote for the candidates receiving more than 5% of the vote in the Montana Republican Convention in proportion to the percentage of vote received at that primary election through the 1st ballot of the Republican National Convention, if that candidate's name is placed in nomination. This Presidential Primary coincides with a state/local primary. These coinciding primaries tend to have an impact upon voter turnout.

There is no party registration in Montana. Individuals who vote in a primary election are given all the parties' ballots, and can choose in private which party ballot they wish to vote.

Tuesday 4 June 2024: Montana Non Binding Advisory Primary. Hours reportedly 7:00a-8:00p MDT (1300-0200 UTC). A polling place with less than 400 registered voters must be open at least from noon to 8 p.m. or until all registered electors have voted. Delegate Selection: Advisory Primary.
