Each political party must notify the Secretary of State in writing on or before 16 January 2024, as to who may vote in the party’s primary election. Any qualified Kansas voter who has registered with the Kansas Secretary of State as a Democratic is qualified to vote in the Primary. Tuesday 19 March 2024: Kansas Primary. Hours 7:00a-7:00p MDT (1300-0100 UTC) / 7:00a-7:00p CDT (1200-0000 UTC). Delegate Pledging: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Closed Primary.
33 of 39 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders based on the results of today's Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be pledged National Convention delegates at the congressional district level or statewide level.
