Participation in Maryland's delegate selection process is open to registered Democrats.

95 of 118 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Maryland Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level. How the Democratic Proportional Delegate Allocation Math works.

  • 63 district delegates are to be allocated proportionally to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the State's 8 congressional districts. District-level delegates are elected by a two-part primary in which delegates appear on the ballot by Presidential Preference.
  • In addition, 32 delegates are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the primary vote statewide.
    • 21 at-large National Convention delegates
    • 11 Pledged PLEOs
