This Presidential Primary coincides with a state/local primary. These coinciding primaries tend to have an impact upon voter turnout. Participation in Maryland's delegate selection process is open to all voters who wish to participate as Democrats. Voters must be registered as Democrats to participate in the primary. Tuesday 23 April 2024: Maryland Primary. Hours 7:00a-8:00p EDT (1100-0000 UTC). Delegate Pledging: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Closed Primary.
Participation in Maryland's delegate selection process is open to registered Democrats. 81 of 104 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Maryland Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level. Saturday 25 May 2024 (presumably): State Party Committee Meeting. Pledged PLEO and At-Large National Convention delegates are elected at the Committee Meeting according to the Presidential Preferences expressed at the Primary. If a presidential candidate is eligible to receive District delegates but failed to slate a enough delegates, the Democratic State Central Committee elects additional delegates pledged to that candidate.
