This Presidential Primary coincides with a state/local primary. These coinciding primaries tend to have an impact upon voter turnout.

Participation in Arkansas's delegate selection process is open to all voters who wish to participate as Democrats (and have not participated in the Republican Primary). Arkansas does not require voters to state their party preference -- the designation is optional. Voters can cast a ballot in the primary of their choice.

Write-in candidates and uncommitted are not options allowed in the Arkansas Presidential Preferential Primary Election.

Tuesday 5 March 2024: Arkansas Primary. Hours 7:30a-7:30p CST (1330-0130 UTC). Delegate Pledging: Proportional Primary. Voter Eligibility: Open Primary.

31 of 36 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Arkansas Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level. How the Democratic Proportional Delegate Allocation Math works.

  • 20 district delegates are to be allocated proportionally to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the State's 4 congressional districts.
  • 11 delegates are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the primary vote statewide.
    • 7 at-large National Convention delegates
    • 4 Pledged PLEOs
