2020 Presidential Primaries, Caucuses, and Conventions
The delegate selection processes herein, along with any and all dates associated therewith, are unofficial and based on either (1) information obtained from either Major Party, (2) Presidential Primary dates established by currently-effective State statute, or- where the foregoing information could not be obtained- (3) the state's 2016 delegate selection process and associated dates adjusted to the corresponding dates in 2020.

County/Regional/State National Delegate Selection Meetings: Tuesday 3 March - Thursday 12 March 2020 (presumably)
State National Delegate Selection meeting: Saturday 21 March 2020 (presumably)
Primary: Tuesday 2 June 2020 (presumably)
State Convention: Friday 26 June - Saturday 27 June 2020 (presumably)
28 total delegates - 10 base at-large / 3 re: 1 congressional district / 3 party / 12 bonus

Tuesday 3 March - Thursday 12 March 2020 (presumably): The County National Delegate Selection Meetings elect delegates to the State National Convention Delegation Selection Meeting.
Saturday 21 March 2020 (presumably): State National Delegate Selection meeting. National Convention delegates are elected. They will be bound to a Presidential contender according to the results of the primary.
This Presidential Primary coincides with a state/local primary. These coinciding primaries tend to have an impact upon voter turnout.
Tuesday 2 June 2020 (presumably): South Dakota Primary. Polling hours reportedly 7:00a-7:00p CDT (1200-0000 UTC) / 7:00a-7:00p MDT (1300-0100 UTC). Delegate Binding: Winner-Take-All Primary. Voter Eligibility: Closed Primary.
Tuesday 2 June 2020 (presumably): All 28 of South Dakota's delegates to the Republican National Convention are allocated to the presidential contender who receives the most votes in today's South Dakota Presidential Primary. [BYLAWS OF THE SOUTH DAKOTA REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE SECTION VI. 9.]
In addition, 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the South Dakota's Republican Party, will attend the convention as bound delegates by virtue of their position.
All delegates ... nominated at the regional caucuses ... shall support the candidate who receives the most votes at the ... succeeding primary election through the first ballot at the National Convention unless that candidate withdraws, suspends campaign activities, or fails to have his or her name placed in nomination at the National Convention, and that if only one candidate's name is placed in nomination at the National Convention that they shall be bound to vote for such candidate on the first ballot provided that the candidate received votes at the South Dakota primary election. Friday 26 June - Saturday 27 June 2020 (presumably): State Convention.
