Alabama Tuesday 12 December 2017 Special General Election for the state's Senate Class 2 Seat. The contest is between former U.S. Attorney Doug Jones (Democratic) and former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court Roy S. Moore (Republican).

This election was caused by the resignation of Senator Jefferson Beauregard "Jeff" Sessions, III (Republican) re: accepting the position of Attorney General in the Trump administration. The seat is currently held by Senator Luther J. Strange, III (Republican) who was appointed on 9 February 2017. The next regular election for this seat is Tuesday 3 November 2020.

Polling hours are 7:00a-7:00p CST (1200-0000 UTC).

Louisiana Special runoff Election for state Treasurer. This vacancy was caused by the resignation of Treasurer John N. Kennedy (Republican) who ran for and won the Senate Class 3 seat in November 2016 and resigned effective 3 January 2017.

Since no candidate received a majority of the vote in the Saturday 14 October 2017 open primary, the top two candidates, Derrick Edwards (Democratic) 31% and former state Representative John M. Schroder, Sr. (Republican) 24%, proceed to the Saturday 18 November 2017 Open General (runoff).

Since no candidate received a majority of the vote in the Saturday 14 October 2017 open primary, the top two candidates, Derrick Edwards (Democratic) 31% and former state Representative John M. Schroder, Sr. (Republican) 24%, proceed to the Saturday 18 November 2017 Open General (runoff).

Louisiana Special non partisan Election for state Treasurer. This vacancy was caused by the resignation of Treasurer John N. Kennedy (Republican) who ran for and won the Senate Class 3 seat in November 2016 and resigned effective 3 January 2017.

There are no party primaries in Louisiana. All candidates from all parties appear on the Saturday 14 October 2017 open primary ballot. If one candidate receives a majority (50% of the vote plus 1) that candidate is elected, otherwise, a Saturday 18 November 2017 runoff will held between the top two vote getters.
