The Presidential Preference vote taken at the convention was unanimous for President George W. Bush.

   

Friday 21 May - Saturday 22 May 2004 - the Congressional District Caucuses and State Convention convene. 45 distict and 13 at-large delegates to the Republican National Convention are chosen in today's District Caucuses and State Convention. A Presidential Preference vote will occur at the Congressional District Caucuses.

  • 3 National Convention Delegates are allocated in each of the 15 congressional districts to the candidate who receives the most votes in each district caucus.
  • 16 (10 at-large, 3 bonus, plus 3 party leader) National Convention Delegates are allocated to the candidate who receives the most votes statewide. (The 3 party leaders include the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Michigan's Republican Party. These delegates will attend the convention as pledged delegates by virtue of their position.)
