Tuesday 2 March 2004 (cancelled): The Republican Primary being uncontested, is cancelled.

87 of 102 of New York's delegates to the Republican National Convention are to be allocated to President George Bush.

  • 87 delegates are to be allocated to the presidential contender receiving the greatest number of votes in the primary statewide.
 

Tuesday 18 May - Wednesday 19 May 2004: The New York Republican State Committee will meet and choose 12 at-large delegates.

  • "New York's 12 at-large delegates chosen by the State's Republican State Committee will go to the Republican National Convention officially 'Unpledged'."

In addition, 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the New York's Republican Party, will attend the convention as unpledged delegates by virtue of their position.
