President George Bush is the only Republican candidate to file for the Presidential Primary. Bush, the only candidate to file, will receive all 43 delegates.

Tuesday 18 May 2004: 43 of 46 of Kentucky's delegates to the Republican National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Kentucky Presidential Primary.

  • 43 delegates to the National Convention are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the primary vote statewide. A 15% threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at the statewide level. Delegates to the national convention are bound for the first ballot.

In addition, 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Kentucky's Republican Party, will attend the convention as unpledged delegates by virtue of their position.
