We extend our condolences to the friends and family of Congressman Patsy Takemoto Mink, 74, who passed away 28 September 2002 after being hospitalized on 30 August with viral pneumonia. She served 12 terms in the House of Representatives. Congressman Mink was a candidate for re-election in the new CD # 2 and received her party's renomination during the 21 September 2002 Primary.Election history - Returned to House: in Special Election, 22 September 1990 re: resignation of Congressman Daniel Akaka, 16 May 1990 re: his having been appointed (subsequently to be elected) U.S. Senator in the Class 1 seat from Hawaii [previously elected to U.S. House: 1964, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1974] Deceased: 28 September 2002.
