Re: the comments by Congresswoman- and Republican presidential contender- Michelle Bachmann (R-Minnesota) this past Sunday 28 August 2011 (the same day Hurricane 'Irene' was continuing to wreak havoc as it moved, ever so slowly, up the East Coast of the United States [and less than a week after a tremblor measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale well shook that same East Coast])- to wit I don't know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane. He said, 'Are you going to start listening to me here?- and her subsequent comment to the effect that Of course I was being humorous when I said that. It would be absurd to think it was anything else.
NO!, Congresswoman... what is really absurd is actually continuing to think that anyone so willing to joke about a natural disaster affecting at least one-third of the country and nearly two-fifths of its population still has any business whatsoever trying to become President of the United States of America!
Of course, it is patently- where not also painfully- obvious that (despite her attempts to weasel out of what she had originally said) she wasn't joking... which means she's also a liar!
Mrs. Bachmann should, first of all, apologize to God Almighty Himself for two things: 1. that she so blithely took the Name of the Lord in vain and 2. for continuing to be so &%$#-ing stupid! Then she can save us all the time and trouble as we approach the calendar year 2012 and just wear a big handwritten sign around her neck simply reading I'M NUTS!!!
And, by the way, Congresswoman: unlike you, I have the guts (and, thereby, lack your abject cowardice) to stand by everything I have written above... thus: there will be no Commentary by me on this website tomorrow- or any other day, for that matter- trying to pretend I have, in this piece, attempted to be the least bit humorous!
