February 28 update: The Clark County (Las Vegas) precinct meetings were held on February 23. Many counties will hold their meetings on March 21. The Nevada delegates are not officially bound to any candidate and will go to the convention "Uncommitted". The Nevada GOP will probably not announce the presidential preference of their delegates.

Wednesday 23 February through Tuesday 21 March 2000: Republican Party Caucuses meet in each precinct. Each Precinct Caucus chooses the precinct's delegates to the County Conventions.

  • "There is no formal system applied in the Precinct Caucuses to relate the presidential preference of the Caucus participants to the choice of the precinct's delegates to the County Convention of the county in which the precinct is located. The participants at each Precinct Caucus alone determine if presidential preference is to be a factor in such choice and, if so, how it is to be applied."

Tuesday 21 March 2000: Republican Party County Conventions convene in each county. Each County Convention chooses delegates to the Nevada State Republican Convention.

  • "County Conventions choose the county's delegates to the Nevada State Republican Convention. Again, there is no formal system applied in the County Convention to relate the presidential preference of the Convention's delegates to the choice of the county's delegates to the Nevada State Republican Convention. The delegates in attendance at each County Convention alone determine if presidential preference is to be a factor and, if so, how it is to be applied."

Thursday 25 May to Saturday 27 May 2000: The Nevada State Republican Convention convenes. The State Convention chooses all 17 delegates from Nevada to the Republican National Convention.

  • "There is, once again, no formal system of allocating Nevada's National Convention delegates to presidential contenders. It is quite possible that all 17 delegates will be chosen by the State Convention as a whole, although- in the past- Congressional District Caucuses, consisting of the State Convention delegates from each of Nevada's 2 congressional districts have met prior to the State Convention to choose the 3 National Convention delegates assigned to each congressional district, leaving the State Convention as a whole to choose the 11 at-large (6 base at-large plus 5 bonus delegates) delegates from Nevada to the Republican National Convention."
