Tuesday 4 March 2008: All 17 of Vermont's delegates to the Republican National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders in today's Vermont Presidential Primary.

  • 17 are to be allocated to the presidential contender receiving the greatest number of votes in the primary statewide.

The 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Vermont's Republican Party, will attend the convention as pledged delegates by virtue of their position.

Timeline:
Tuesday 15 April 2008: Town caucuses for the purpose of electing delegates to the State Straw Poll and Presidential Nominating Convention.
Monday 5 May 2008: Names of delegates to the State Straw Poll and Presidential Delegate Nominating Convention will be released to the Republican National Convention.
Saturday 17 May 2008: State Straw Poll and Presidential Delegate Nominating Convention.


Delegates to the Republican National Convention are bound for the first two ballots to the presidential candidate who wins a plurality of Republican votes cast in the Presidential Primary. [Rule 11. l.]
