Arizona Democrats authorize Internet Voting for March 11 Advisory Primary
Sunday, October 3, 1999

Arizona Democrats have been authorized to use voting from home via the Internet in their Saturday 11 March ADVISORY Primary by the national Democratic Party, so long as it does not completely supplant absentee balloting. The DNC calls this a "party-run primary" as it is to be operated by the state Democratic primary and not the regular state electoral process as is the GOP primary in that state in February. Internet voting was quickly approved by the national Democratic party on 23 Sept 99.
