Seat up for special election: Tuesday 7 April 2026 Special Election - 6 January 2026: Governor Brian Porter Kemp (Republican) called a special election to fill the vacant seat of former Member of Congress Marjorie Taylor Greene (Republican) who resigned on 5 January 2026. The Special Election is Tuesday 10 March 2026; the runoff, if necessary is Tuesday 7 April 2026. Filing is Monday 12 to Wednesday 14 January 2026. For special elections, all candidates (regardless of party) run in the primary. If 1 candidate receives a majority (50% + 1), that candidate wins.
