Wednesday 3 March 2010 1:50 am CST primary update: Since no candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the primaries below, a runoff between the two top vote-getters will be held on Tuesday 13 April 2010.

24 June 2010: State District Judge John Dietz ruled that the Green Party's candidates are to be removed from the November General Election ballot because the party's signature drive was improperly funded.

2 July 2010: The Texas Supreme Court temporarily stayed the order removing the Green Party's candidates from the ballot. This action allows the Green Party to certify their candidates for the November 2010 general election. The court will hold a hearing at a later date.

7 July 2010: The Texas Democrat Party has dropped the lawsuit to remove the Green Party's candidates from the November ballot. The Democrats will however seek civil penalties.
