Attorney General Paul Morrison (Democratic) resigned on Friday 14 December 2007. He was first elected in 2006. His resignation is related to an improper sexual relationship which lead to a sexual harrassment suit. Article 1, Section 11 of the Kansas Constitution provides that where there is a vacancy in the office of the Attorney General, the Governor fills the vacancy by appointment for the duration of the term. Democratic Governor Kathleen Sebelius named Seventh Judicial District Judge Stephen N. Six Kansas as Attorney General on 18 January 2008. He will be sworn in on 31 January 2008. | |||||
