 Jerry Pappert took the oath of office as Pennsylvania Attorney General on 2 February 2004. Pappert had been Acting Attorney General since 15 December 2003, when Attorney General Mike Fisher was sworn-in as a judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Fisher was first elected in 1996 and re-elected in 2000. Mr. Pappert was nominated by Governor Ed Rendell and unanimously confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate on 20 January 2004.
