NOTE: The U.S. Supreme Court heard Oral Argument on Wednesday 1 March 2006 in a case brought by Democrats against the current Texas Congressional Districting Plan, first implemented for the 2004 Elections to U.S. House seats from the State and still in effect for 2006, on grounds that Republicans, once they had gained control of both houses of the State's legislature after the 2002 State elections, unfairly redistricted the U.S. House seats from the State after they had already been districted in relationship to data from the 2000 Census by court order for 2002: the Court has taken this case under advisement. Any decision by the Court re: this challenge, obviously, would be coming too late to at all adversely affect the Primaries for U.S. House seats held on 7 March. in CD 1 Democrats have nominated Roger L.
