Saturday 4 December 2004 - Louisiana - General Election Runoff

U.S. House CD 3

Since no candidate received 50% of the vote, the top two vote getters,
Republican W.J. "Billy" Tauzin, III (32%) and Democrat "Charlie" Melancon
(24%) will proceed to a 4 December run-off. Mr. Tauzin is the son of incumbent
Republican Congressman W.J. "Billy" Tauzin who did not seek re-election.

With 100% of the precints reporting:
  Democrat "Charlie" Melancon (50.23% 57,609 votes - WINNER) 
  Republican W.J. "Billy" Tauzin, III (49.77% 57,092 votes)

Since no candidate received 50% of the vote, the top two vote getters,
Republican Charles Boustany, Jr. (39%) and Democrat Willie Landry Mount (25%)
will proceed to a 4 December run-off.

  Republican Charles Boustany, Jr. (55% - WINNER)
  Democrat Willie Landry Mount (45%)

North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture

Protests filed because an electronic voting system failed to record 4,438
votes in Carteret County. Republican Steve Troxler leads Democrat Britt Cobb
by 2,287 votes.

The State Board of Elections had decided that voters in Carteret County whose
ballots were lost, as well as registered voters in the county who didn't vote
in the 2 November election voters should cast new ballots on 11 January 2005.

North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction

Democrat June Atkinson leads Republican Bill Fletcher by 8,535 votes.

The State Board of Elections convened in public session on Tuesday 30 November
and unanimously certified Democrat June Atkinson as the winner. Republican
Bill Fletcher has 10 days to to appeal the ruling.

Puerto Rico Governor

Recount in progress. The first set of results had Aníbal Acevedo-Vilá leading
Pedro Rosselló by 3,880 votes out of 1,970,759.

Washington Governor

A state ordered machine recount was completed on 24 November 2004.
The certified vote shows Republican Dino Rossi leading Democrat Christine
Gregoire by 42 votes out of 2,808,342.

On Friday 3 December 2004 the Democrats officially challenged the
certification. Secretary of State Sam Reed is expected to issue the hand
recount order on Monday 6 December. It is expected that the recount will be
completed by 23 December.
