  • Member of Congress of Thomas W. "Tom" Reed, II (Republican, New York CD 23) resigned on 10 May 2022. He had previously announced that he would not run for re-election due to alcohol dependence and allegations of sexually harassment.

On 22 March 2021 he announced "I will not be seeking reelection to the House of Representatives in 2022....". On 24 March 2022 he announced he will resign to take a position at the law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. He resigned on 31 March 2022.
4 April 2022: Governor Greg Abbott (Republican) called special all-party primary. All candidates, regardless of party affiliation, run on a single 14 June ballot.
