If no candidate receives a majority of the vote in the primary, the two top vote-getters will proceed to a runoff. The candidate who leads in this runoff (second primary) shall be nominated as a Party's candidate for the office. To win a State-based statewide office, a candidate must receive 50% or more of the vote and carry 62 or more of the 122 House districts. Otherwise, the House chooses between the top two vote-getters in January. |
