Apparent Electoral Vote for President: 2000
by REGION/Subregion

NOTE: Apparent Electoral Vote is a statistical device for the analysis of Presidential Elections in which the Party that- or the Presidential Nominee of the Party who- receives the most popular votes in a given jurisdiction eligible to choose Electors for President of the United States (currently, the 50 constituent States of the Union plus the District of Columbia) is given all that jurisdiction's Electoral Votes. 'Apparent Electoral Vote' does not take into account actual Electoral Vote totals resulting from a State choosing some of its Electors by Congressional District rather than At-Large, a split ticket of Presidential Electors in States where the Electors can be chosen as individual candidates for Elector or the subsequent vote cast- after their election- by so-called "Faithless" Electors.
